“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible” is the mindset of the well-respected and acclaimed industry expert for city improvements, Gerald McDowell. This Walt Disney mindset is attributed to much of McDowell’s success and the all-inclusive idea of raising the collective value of communities. With nearly 30 years of professional experience, McDowell is humbled by his experiences and remains diligent in commitment to improve communities throughout South Atlanta. Gerald has a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in Atlanta.

Charlie Vaughn, CPMC

Charlie Vaughn, CPMC

Marketing & Communications Director

Charlie is an accomplished professional with over 20 years of progressive marketing experience, specializing in diversity branding solutions. A native of the Aerotropolis Atlanta area, Charlie is truly excited about managing the marketing and design process of both the Aerotropolis Atlanta CIDs and Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance. She has proven ability to combine vision and creativity while increasing company revenue and client retention. Charlie is helping to add the visual appeal to reshaping the brand, image and narrative of South Atlanta. She has a Master’s in Psychology from Capella University and a Bachelor’s of Science from Louisiana State University.

Jon Antoine

Public Safety Director

With over 25 years of law enforcement expertise, Jon adds tremendous value in creating an economically STRONG and SAFE community surrounding the world’s most-traveled passenger airport. Jon is committed to enhancing the perception of South Atlanta, making it the ideal destination for new businesses, residents, and visitors. Jon has a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbus State University.

Program Director

Krystal Harris was the recent Asset Program Manager at the Georgia Department of Transportation. She served at GDOT for the last 12 years in various roles. While at GDOT, she focused on working in the most feasible way while meeting the goals and objectives of the Department. “This means that sometimes change is good. What once worked before may not be the case today,” Krystal shares. She is versatile and goal-oriented and strives to achieve overall company goals and exceed customer expectations. She has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Executive Assistant

Kyana supports both the Aerotropolis Atlanta CIDs and the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance.

Innovative Ideas

The Aerotropolis CIDs seek to raise the collective value of its community’s commercial properties while making the CIDs a destination for new businesses, residents and visitors.

Public Safety

The Aerotropolis CIDs support a public safety program addressing property and business owner concerns and enhance perceptions of the community.

Direct Communication

The Aerotropolis CIDs works directly with property owners, business owners, civic organizations, elected officials and residents.

Steve Berman

Chair, OA Development

Steve Berman is President of OA Development, a real estate development firm that has developed and acquired over 3.5 million square feet of office, industrial and business park space in Georgia, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina. He is a past president of the Board of Trustees Greenfield Hebrew Academy and served as treasurer of American Israel Chamber of Commerce Board.

Doug Dunn

Vice Chair, Alliance Bus Group

Doug Dunn is Chairman and CEO of Alliance Bus Group, a large bus dealership headquartered next to the Atlanta airport. The company is a licensed dealer in seven states and for over fifteen different bus body manufactures companies. The company currently operates eight dealership locations. As of today, the company has 145 employees and annual revenues that exceed $150 million.

Frank Farrell

Treasurer, Ackerman & Co
Frank Farrell is Senior Vice President of Leasing and specializes in office and industrial leasing. He currently leases Phoenix Office Park, an 11-building project of 350,000 square feet located just south of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Frank is responsible for the marketing, advertising, proposal and lease preparation and all related lease negotiations. He oversees budgeting, monthly reporting, tenant construction and tenant relations.

Delanie Dunivin

Secretary, Howard Johnson
Delanie Dunivin is the General Manager, Director of Sales and Marketing and Food and Beverage Director for the Howard Johnson hotel on Phoenix Boulevard. Delanie has been with the hotel for 36 years. Prior to her hotel management career, she attended Western Carolina University. Delanie currently resides in Clayton County.

Michael Godin

Board Member, WePartner Management
Clayton County Appointee

As Vice President of Business Development, Michael Godin, is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and acquiring new investment properties. He focuses on residential, office, retail and industrial properties in the greater Atlanta area. Michael also works with WePartner’s Development team to utilize their land holdings to rezone, engineer and develop new properties.


Cassie Hanavich

Cassie Hanavich

Board Member, Prologis

Cassie is a Senior Leasing Manager with Prologis and oversees leasing activity in the Atlanta market. She runs the South Atlanta portfolio, managing over 6M SF, while focusing on leasing current vacancies and maintaining relationships with existing customers.

Cassie earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama, majoring in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Prior to commercial real estate, she worked in both oil & gas at ExxonMobil and energy at Georgia Power Company, as a project manager for various capital projects. She started her real estate career as a broker with Cushman & Wakefield, specializing in industrial landlord representation. Cassie’s most recent position before joining Prologis was asset manager for GLP, where she managed 14M SF in Florida and Atlanta.

Austin McDonald

Austin McDonald is the COO of McDonald Development, overseeing day-to-day activities related to financing, leasing, asset management, property management and accounting. Austin is active in the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Society of Industrial and Office Realtor, Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the Urban Land Institute.

Natalie Martin

Natalie Martin is an Asst. Vice President – Property Manager with Duke Realty Corporation where she manages a portfolio of more than 5 million square feet of commercial real estate in the Atlanta area. In addition to serving as Chair for the Airport West CID, she is also on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Aerotropolis Alliance.

Vance Burgess

Vice Chair, Chick-fil-A
Vance Burgess is a Senior Director in the Legal Department at Chick-fi-A, where he provides legal oversight in connection with Chick-fil-A’s new restaurant development. Vance brings real estate development expertise with his experience as a CPA in real estate and construction prior to Chick-fil-A.

Shannon James

Secretary, Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance
Shannon James is a President and CEO of the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance. James spent 15-years in the banking industry, receiving several accolades such as: becoming the first African-American accepted into the Park Avenue Bank Management Trainee Program (MTP), a two-time recipient of the Platinum Performance Award for the Diversified Commercial Division with SunTrust and offered profitable results while serving as Vice President of Commercial Banking with Branch Banking & Trust. James works with a Board of 38 trusted advsiros where the collective goal is to make the Aerotropolis Atlanta area a world-class destination for business, connectivity, and living.

Joseph S. Folz

Treasurer, Porsche Cars North America, Inc
Joseph S. Folz is Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Porsche Cars North America, Inc.  Joe oversees legal and compliance for the business as well as government relations.  Prior to joining Porsche in 2010, Joe spent 29 years with Volkswagen Group of America.  Joe was a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Volkswagen Bank USA.  He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, The Board of Trustees of the Atlanta Police Foundation, and the Boards of Directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Airport Area Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance.

Shiv Aggarwal

Board Member, Aggarwal Real Estate

Shiv Aggarwal is President/CEO of Aggarwal Real Estate. Along with starting his own real estate business, he has created a foundation bringing the Indian community together in Baton Rouge and Atlanta. He also founded the first and only indoor South Asian mall in North America.


Chris Brown

Board Member, Duke Realty
Chris Brown is a Regional Senior Vice President at Duke Realty, and he is responsible for operations in Georgia and Tennessee. He is also responsible for identifying acquisitions and development opportunities, new land positions and prospects for build-to-suit development. Chris serves on the boards of the Council for Quality Growth, Fowler Family YMCA, Wesleyan School and AAC Junior Golf Foundation.

Dr. Stuart Gulley

Dr. Stuart Gulley is the seventh president of Woodward Academy, the largest college preparatory school in the continental U.S., with 2,800 students. Dr. Gulley spent his professional career in education as President of LaGrange College and administrative.

Dan Halpern

Board Member, Jackmont Hospitality
City of Atlanta Appointee
Dan Halpern is the CEO and Founder of Jackmont Hospitality. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of locations in six states and D.C. Dan is widely published and lectures internationally regarding economic investment and political activism in business development.

Austin McDonald

Board Member, McDonald Development
Austin McDonald is the COO of McDonald Development, overseeing day-to-day activities related to financing, leasing, asset management, property management and accounting. Kevin Parrish is a Vice President and District Manager for the Greater Atlanta South District for Wells Fargo. Kevin also works with United Way South Fulton Advisory Board outside of his business hours.

Garland L. Reid

Fulton County Appointee
Garland Reid is a General Attorney at Delta Air Lines, practicing in the areas of commercial real estate and construction. She also serves on the board of the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network.

Neel Shah

Board Member, Hotel Evolution LLC
Neel Shah is the President of Hotel Evolution LLC, an award-winning third-party hospitality management company. Mr. Shah is an approved developer for Hilton, Marriott, Starwood, and InterContinental Hotels Group franchises. Shah has been awarded the “Developer of the Year” Award by Hilton Hotels Worldwide for the quality of his multiple hotel developments. Having served on advisory panels for various industries and companies, Shah currently serves as a Board Member of Atlanta’s Airport West Community Improvement District, where he is constructing his newest Home2 Suites by Hilton.
